Care & Cleaning
MOHAIR CURTAINS
Dry clean only.
No moisture should be incorporated into the dry cleaning solvent.
Lightly steam with dry steam only.
Dust can be removed with a vaccum cleaner or feather duster.
Curtains should be switched around every few years ie: swap sides that they hang on the curtain rail. Move left hand panel to right hand side to get equal treatment.
MOHAIR & RAFFIA CARPETS
For spills, use absorbent kitchen towel to soak up initial moisture. It should be sufficient, otherwise follow up with light spot clean with water.
Wash in cold water with mild detergent. Lie flat to dry in sun.
Do not use any detergent that contains bleach.
Maintenance: Vacuum or brush with a soft, damp brush to remove excess hair fluff balls.
Carpet fringes: Brush in one directions to keep neat.
Most carpets are fully reversable. Flip them over regularly.
RAFFIA FABRICS
Curtains: Wipe with a damp cloth and detergent.
Cushion covers: Hand wash gently in lukewarm water.
Do not wring.
Lie flat to dry, out of direct sunlight.
Cool iron.
MOHAIR BLANKETS, CUSHION COVERS, SHAWLS & SILK
Hand wash gently in lukewarm water with a mild detergent like Woolite.
Do not wring. Lie flat to dry, out of direct sunlight.
Cool iron.
STRIPPED COTTON/RAG CARPETS
Small ones are machine washable. No spin dry cycle.
Large ones can be washed with ordinary detergent and cold water and laid out in sun to dry.
COTTON BLANKETS
Gently machine wash or hand wash. No spin dry cycle.
Lie flat to dry, out of direct sunlight.
Medium iron.
